PREPARATION OF CITY STREET VENDING PLANS

HVESWS is working on the project “Preparation of City Street Vending Plans” for Kota and Jodhpur in Rajasthan, Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, Cluster 2 & 4 in Jharkhand and 8 towns in Odisha to support to Urban Street Vendors (SUSV) under National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM). It seeks to address the concerns of urban street vendors by facilitating access to suitable spaces for vending, institutional credit, improved skills and social security linkages.

Before the Survey:

HVESWS is responsible for end to end survey for the project City Street Vending  Plan. It is also providing the application software and database support for the survey work.  Qualified surveyors are collecting the primary data for the vendors in the electronic format. The survey is conducted on a whole city basis covering one area (ward/ zone/ specified part of city) at a time. The survey include the information like name, name of parents, address, Identity proof (if any), telephone number , Place of vending, Type of vending activity, Time/Duration of engagement as a vendor, If identified as beneficiary / poor for any of government schemes, If they have bank account, If they have knowledge of NULM scheme etc.

The identified street vendors are enumerated and numbered for bio metric process and the verification of address proof is being also done by the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), so that the Identity Cards issued to the surveyed street vendors can act as sufficient documentation for opening of their bank accounts, getting loans from banks, accessing social benefits, etc.
